Lake Winds is a concert band located in northern Lake County, Florida.

Our musicians are 9-18 year olds that are either home schooled or attending a private school that does not offer a music program.

Our accomplished band director, Wes Locke, provides the opportunity to experience the joy of making music and becoming musicians.

Beginners Lessons begin Monday, June 22nd, at the First Presbyterian Church of Umatilla (directions)

Individual lessons for veteran members will begin Tuesday June 23rd. If you would like to take lessons this summer please check our Calendar page to see the schedule! If you are interested in private or group lessons during the summer, please e-mail me.

Our Spring Concert was a great success. The band continues to show improvement each semester. For the upcoming Fall semester I would like to hold our first Solo and Ensemble Festival. Students will select, rehearse, and perform a solo or small ensemble piece. A clinician will give a critique of their performance and assign a rating for each performance. This is a great way to encourage practice and stretching their abilities.
